state-of-the-art manufacturing plants
Total Capacity: 2.13 Million MT per annum.
The Line Pipes are mainly used for energy transportation in the oil and gas sector
as well as water and slurry transportation.
Jindal SAW Ltd. is the market leader capacity wise in manufacturing of large diameter Submerged Arc Welded (SAW) Pipes using U-O-E, J-C-O and Helical processes. The SAW Pipes are mainly used in transportation of Oil, Gas, Slurry and Water.
The first SAW Pipe mill (UOE) was commissioned in the year 1987 in Kosi Kalan, Uttar Pradesh. With the opening of this mill, Jindal SAW Ltd. became the first Pipe mill to produce LSAW Pipes in India.
With a vision of establishing Jindal SAW Ltd. as a foremost supplier of Line Pipes globally, the second Mill was commissioned in the year 2000 close to port Mundra. This was the first major all-weather private port on the west coast of India, Kutch District in the state of Gujarat. In order to cater the rising demand, the SAW Pipes division continued to, and has now expanded to nine pipe mills in India and one in USA.
In addition, Jindal SAW provides relevant, value-added services by way of specialized internal and external Anti-Corrosion Coatings, Connector Casings, Hot Pulled Induction Bends, to name a few and has thus become a company that provides TOTAL PIPE SOLUTIONS.
Jindal SAW Ltd. has manufactured and supplied more than 39,490 kms of Line pipes & exported in excess of 17,707 Kms of Line pipes for on-shore and off-shore pipeline projects across the world. To take advantage of advancement in technology & infrastructure to fabricate and transport longer length pipes, Jindal SAW has recently commissioned Double Jointing Rack at Port Mundra facility to supply Pipes in quadruple lengths (QRL - 24 meters). This is achieved by girth welding two pipes of double random lengths each. Our current capacity is from 16" OD to 60" OD.

The weld-on Connector Casing Pipes are used for Onshore & Offshore exploration and exploitation. The state of the art connector welding facility is located at Samaghogha, Mundra in the state of Gujarat. Over 804.20 Kms of Connector Casing Pipes have already been supplied.
A modern Hot Pulled Induction Bends facility of size range from 4" OD to 48" OD was set up within the Kosi Kalan complex in the year 1998. In order to cater to the export market, another facility for induction bends at Samaghogha was installed having size range from 6" OD to 56" OD. Over 12,000 bends have been manufactured by Jindal SAW.
Coating on Hot Induction Bends
Following are the types of coating offered on Bends.
External : FBE/DFBE, HSS, Painting, Concrete Weight Coating(CWC)
Internal : Painting, FBE
Application of Monel Sheathing is done for protection of offshore pipelines, which are above sea-water
Monel strip of 5mm thickness is welded and tested for 100% dye penetration. A section is cut from longitudinal and circumferential welds for metallographic examination to ensure that the welds are free of slag inclusions and cracks.
The entire welding process is done as per qualified procedure in the downhill position, using ERNICu-7 filler wire & ERNI-1 filler wire.
Sacrifical Anodes are applied on the anti-corrosion coated pipes for protection from rust and to increase the life of the pipeline.
