Pellets & Mining

Boosting Iron-Ore Production Efficiency & Capacity

At the forefront of transformational possibilities, Jindal SAW established a significant mechanized iron ore mine and pellet plant in Bhilwara, Rajasthan, in 2012, with a production capacity of 1.65 MTPA. The plant uses advanced technology to upgrade low-grade magnetite iron ore from 25% Fe to over 67% Fe, followed by pelletizing the concentrate. Notably, it operates with impressive energy efficiency, consuming less than 140,000 kcals per ton of pellet, which is 60% lower than the national average.

Key Plant Highlights

Jindal SAW’s Bhilwara plant leverages advanced technology for efficient iron ore beneficiation and pelletization. With features like low-grade ore processing, efficient mining, sustainable water use, and energy savings, it sets new standards in operational excellence and sustainability.

Efficient Mining Operations

Efficient Mining Operations

Operating with a lean deposit and high stripping ratio, the plant requires approximately 19 tons of mining to produce 1 ton of concentrate, showcasing its resource-efficient approach.

Product 3
Sustainable Water Management

Sustainable Water Management

The plant utilizes treated sewage water from Bhilwara, processed at Jindal SAW's Sewage Treatment Plant. The water is transported via a 23 km pipeline and stored in a 2.5 lac m3 capacity reservoir for use in mining, beneficiation, and pelletization.
