Jindal SAW Ltd. emerged as a key player in India’s pipe manufacturing sector after the discovery of offshore crude oil in Bombay High and growing demand for petroleum products and natural gas. In the 1980s, with foreign exchange shortages, Jindal SAW began producing Carbon Steel Pipe with Submerged Arc Welding, reducing reliance on foreign imports and driving down prices. The company’s first API License was obtained in 1986, and by 1994, it expanded globally. With over 19,000 Kilo Meters of Submerged Arc Welded pipes exported, Jindal SAW now operates seven advanced manufacturing plants and is known for its innovative, high-quality pipe solutions, including anti-corrosion and offshore line pipe coatings. It remains a leading supplier to the oil and gas industry worldwide.

Jindal SAW seamlessly welds connectors onto pipes designated for outer casings in underground drilling applications.
This innovation allows us to supply pipes in quadruple lengths (QRL- 24 meters) by girth welding two pipes of double random lengths each. Our current capacity spans from 16" OD to 60" OD.
• Capacity: 30,000 p.a.
Our facility for induction bends at Samaghogha was installed with a size range from 6" OD to 56" OD. Jindal SAW has manufactured over 10,000 bends, and various coating options are available for Hot Induction Bends.
Types of Coating on Hot Induction Bends:
To safeguard offshore pipelines above seawater, Jindal SAW applies Monel Sheathing. This process involves welding a 5mm-thick Monel strip, rigorously tested for 100% dye penetration. Metallographic examination ensures that longitudinal and circumferential welds are free of slag inclusions and cracks.
Sacrificial Anodes are strategically installed on anti-corrosion coated pipes, enhancing protection against rust and extending the pipeline's lifespan in harsh environmental conditions.
Post weld heat treatment is normally carried out to remove the thermal stress developed during welding of high wall thickness pipes . PWHT will help in improving the integrity of weld zone and shall improve the resistance to Hydrogen embrittlement, improving ductility and help in getting desired fracture toughness on weld zones.
We have a fully automatic facility with a principle of electromagnetic induction for the detection and characterization of surface and near-surface hard spots in carbon steel plates (both sides) which is very critical to maintaining the integrity of pipelines.
